10th Annual National Convening on Personalized Learning

Personalized Learning impacts both the students and adults that embrace it in powerful ways. For one educator, it impacted him so much that he left his role in district administration to return to the classroom to implement the philosophy he had been promoting. Come hear a few stories about what prompted this change as well as the perspective of someone who returned to the classroom after 6 years and is trying to implement personalized learning.  Joining Mike will be his assistant principal, Nick Reineck, and the school librarian, Matt Anderson, who have been instrumental in helping further the planning for and implementation of personalized learning opportunities at Sycamore High School.
Get some real world advice on what worked and what didn’t in the first few months as well as strategies you can take away for things to try—from small tweaks to your daily lessons to overhauling an entire semester.  From rolling out a 1:1 initiative complete with blended learning options to individualized professional development. Sprinkled in will be some tips for working with colleagues yet to be convinced and hopefully a few laughs. There’s something for everyone in this session!
