A core element of personalized learning is proficiency based progress. That component forced us to take a step back and ask ourselves what does proficiency actually look like? Do we have the same definition as the person across the hall from us teaching the same course/subject/level? What about our expectations vertically? In this session, you will have the opportunity to hear about the journey of a classroom teacher, interventionist, and coach as they created a process to establish proficiency through norming. At the end of this session you will have a structure to help facilitate the professional development conversations among peers that need to occur to begin to really understand what proficiency looks like.
